Serving Seward and the tourism/cruise ship industry, Providence Seward Medical Center is a collaborative effort between an Alaskan community and Providence Health System. In 1996, the City of Seward awarded Providence a long-term contract to manage and operate its municipally owned hospital and clinic. In addition to 24-hour emergency room services, the hospital provides inpatient care for needs that can be handled by the Seward primary care physician and physician assistant team, outpatient clinic services, physical therapy, diagnostic and home health care services.

Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center (formerly Kodiak Island Hospital and Nursing Home) is owned by the Kodiak Island Borough with operational management provided by Providence Health System. The Medical Center features 25 acute care beds, including 4 birthing suites and 4 psychiatric care beds.  It includes a significant range of inpatient and outpatient services including emergency department, surgery, maternity, general medicine, physical therapy specialty clinics, diagnostics, retail pharmacy and home health care. The Kodiak facility is staffed by a mix of primary care physicians, surgeons and specialists who provide family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics, radiology and general practice.
