Merck-Medco owns and operates 17 pharmacies of four models/types:

Conventional Pharmacies – These pharmacies perform prescription order assessment, validation and clinical interventions (DUR, Formulary Management, Health Management) as well as compounding and dispensing.

Clinical/Cognitive Pharmacies (prescription processing/non-dispensing) – These pharmacies perform the clinical and cognitive aspects of order review and validation, as well as clinical interventions (DUR, Formulary Management, Health Management), but do NOT dispense medications.

Call Center Pharmacies – Call center pharmacies perform patient and prescriber education, patient counseling, drug information, and customer service, as well as DUR, Health Management, and Formulary Management.

Central Fulfillment (Automated dispensing pharmacies) – Merck-Medco operates fully automated, state-of-the-art central fulfillment dispensing pharmacies in Las Vegas, NV and Willingboro, NJ. After receiving order information from clinical/cognitive or conventional pharmacies, these pharmacies send completed prescriptions to patients.
