Supermarket Environment. Surveys show grocery store pharmacists are
among the happiest retail pharmacists. We offer lower prescription
volumes, generous staffing guidelines, modern technology, corporate
pharmacist leadership, and less than 2% drive-thru windows.
Company-Paid Retirement
Plan. Our pension plan contributes 6-17% (depending on years of
service) of annual salary to your account. Our pension is over 50 years
strong, federally protected, and NOT funded in Safeway stock.
401(k) Plan. Our plan,
available upon hiring, allows you to contribute 1-25% of your pre-tax
income in many different fund choices. When combined with Safeway's pension plan,
a full-time pharmacist can accumulate 2.4 million dollars in a 30 year
career.
Annual Bonuses and Stock
Options. Our full-time pharmacists are eligible for performance and
volume based bonuses as well as stock option grants.
Relocation Packages.
If moving more than 50 miles to accept a full-time position in our
corporation the following may be available; real estate assistance for
homeowners or renters, temporary living expenses, house hunting trip,
professional packing and shipping, travel expenses, $1000, and a
relocation specialist. Pharmacy Managers are eligible for our complete
home buyout package.

A sign-on bonus

Pharmacy
Student Loan Program. $5,000 and $10,000 loans are offered
