Description of position: Oversees and directs operations of the in-store pharmacy and other areas of the warehouse. Monitors department performance as Pharmacist-in-Charge. Participates in Pharmacist duties.

Daily tasks and responsibilities:

• Schedules, develops, counsels, trains, and directs department personnel. Makes recommendations for hiring, promotion, and termination to Warehouse Manager. Reviews and approves area timecards. Drafts and participates in presentation of employee performance reviews.
• Acts as Pharmacist-In-Charge, point of contact for regulatory, legal, third party insurance companies, and audit situations. Monitors pharmacy to ensure complete legal compliance.
• Observes employee performance and checks paperwork to ensure that proper department production, record keeping, and product storage procedures and standards are followed.
• Reviews insurance payment records, department budget and financial statements. Develops and implements plans for productivity and profitability.
• Oversees and participates in dispensing prescription medications: measuring, labeling, checking for drug interactions, verifying with physicians, and selecting substitutions when necessary. Assists with counter duties and merchandising as necessary.
• Approves and submits orders for equipment and supplies. Orders product using computer system. Coordinates proper maintenance and repairs for machinery and equipment.
• Provides and ensures prompt and courteous member service. Counsels members on proper medication usage. Responds to customer concerns using problem solving skills, tact, and discretion. Preserves patient confidentiality.
• Oversees perpetual inventory of Schedule II controlled substances. Implements and upholds safety and security procedures.
• This is a full-time management/leadership position (40+ hours per week).

Non-Essential Functions and Tasks:

• Assists with front end duties as necessary.
• Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
• Supervises and reviews interns if authorized by Board of Pharmacy and State regulations.

Qualifications:

• Education/Training: Bachelor of Science or Doctorate of Pharmacy required.
• Licenses/Certifications: Licensed Pharmacist in good standing.
• Experience: Management experience preferred.
• Knowledge/Skills: Computer, math, and customer service skills preferred.
