Online Graduate-Level Certificate (Distance Learning / Online)
The University of Florida graduate certificate in Health Care Risk Management is designed to prepare working pharmacists to develop a comprehensive risk management, patient safety and quality improvement/compliance program.
After completing this program, students will have an understanding of general risk management techniques, standards of health care risk management administration, federal, state and local laws, and methods for integrating patient safety and enterprise risk management into a comprehensive risk management program. Upon completion of this program students who meet certain criteria may be eligible to become licensed health care risk managers in the State of Florida.
Courses will provide a strong foundation in:
- Healthcare standards and regulations impacting pharmacists
- Elements of negligence, liability, and malpractice
- Methods for identifying risk exposure in pharmacy settings
- Risk control techniques to reduce errors and increase patient safety
Admission Requirements:
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree. Typically, students can earn up to 15 graduate credits from the University of Florida that may be applicable toward a master’s degree (based upon an institution’s graduate degree requirements). You must verify that you have a bachelor's degree by mailing a copy of your college transcripts to the address below.
