Job Summary: 

As the Pharmaceutical Care Manager at the Taussig Cancer Institute, you will be responsible for all aspects of the cancer center’s pharmacy operations and clinical services provided to our patients. Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, advanced degree preferred
• Pharmacy practice experience in oncology
• Three years of pharmacy supervisory experience required

Job Summary:

At Cleveland Clinic, you’ll work with the most advanced medication use system that today’s technology can provide. We’ve transformed the entire process all the way from computerized prescriber order entry to a state of the art USP 797 clean room for IV admixtures - to automated repackaging devices and horizontal carousels for drug packaging, storage, inventory control and dispensing - to automated procurement and administration documentation at the nursing unit. Job Responsibilities: 

• Most new staff pharmacists at the Cleveland Clinic are initially oriented and trained in the Central Pharmacy area. During this time, you will also be introduced to Sterile Products, Specialty Satellites, Informatics, Anticoagulation, Quality and many other areas of practice. Then, as you show an interest in or an aptitude for a particular area of practice, you’ll find an abundance of additional training is available for whatever track you wish to pursue.
• The Pharmacist Career Ladder provides a formalized process to advance within the profession of pharmacy through enhanced skill sets and/or direct patient care on the nursing unit. The Pharmacist Career Ladder will improve pharmacist retention as there will be significant opportunity for career advancement.
• Outstanding pharmacists who have met all of the career ladder criteria including specific competencies, accomplishments and time of service, can advance up to become a Clinical Specialist without going through a residency program.

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Manager/Coordinator, the Pharmacist II assures the appropriate control, security, prescribing, preparation, dispensing, and utilization of pharmaceuticals. This position is for specialized satellite services or nursing unit based pharmacist order verification with programmatic clinical functions.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from a university accredited by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.

Internal candidates:

• Minimum of 6 months as a Pharmacist III.

External candidates:

• Minimum of 2 years experience in hospital pharmacy OR have successfully completed a PGY1 Residency.

After selection and placement into this position, the time requirement for on-the-job-training to learn various techniques and methods used at Cleveland Clinic is determined by the Manager/Coordinator.

Current licensure as a registered Pharmacist in the State of Ohio.

Typical physical demands include ability to perform functions of the job while reaching and stretching, and manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions of job.
