What is CAPS?
CAPSŪ (Central Admixture Pharmacy
Services) pioneered in 1991 to deliver high quality admixture services and
solutions to a dynamic and challenging pharmacy environment.
CAPS, a subsidiary of
B.Braun Medical Inc., is a state licensed pharmacy also operating as a
manufacturer registered with the FDA. CAPS services originate from a
free-standing facility with a focus to provide daily admixing and delivery
of parenteral drugs, solutions, and nutrition.
Today, CAPS has grown into
a nationwide network of state-licensed, FDA-registered pharmacies
providing service to over 400 hospitals and home care customers. From
various locations, CAPS pharmacies operate 365 days a year to admix,
dispense and deliver labeled, patient specific and anticipatory IV
prescriptions to our growing family of outsourcing pharmacy providers.
Director of Pharmacy /
Pharmacist
Responsible for the
operation of the pharmacy. Maintains strong relationships with customers.
Supervisory responsibilities that include hiring, training, delegating
work, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and
resolving problems. Maintains Continuous Quality Assessment and
Improvement program. Performs function of staff pharmacist as needed.
Assures pharmacy compliance with rules and regulations of the State Board
of Pharmacy and other regulating agencies as appropriate. Previous
hospital or homecare sterile product preparation experience preferred.
Staff Pharmacist
Responsible for the
preparation of intravenous solution and related activities at the
direction the Director of Pharmacy. Assists in the supervision and
training of IV technicians, interns, and other support personal. Maintains
Continuous Quality Assessment and Improvement program. Reviews daily
prescriptions for admixing and dispensing and conducts parenteral admixing
and dispensing activities consistent with CAPS standards of practice.
Assure pharmacy compliance with rules and regulations of the State Board
of Pharmacy and other regulating agencies as appropriate. Assists in
pharmacy operation including planning, equipment, licensure and inventory.
Solves order discrepancies and functions as customer liaison. Perform
other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Previous hospital or
homecare sterile product preparation experience preferred.
Pharmacy Technician
Responsible for the
preparation of intravenous solution and related activities at the
direction the Director of Pharmacy. Assists in Continuous Quality
Assessment and Improvement program. Perform other duties and
responsibilities as assigned. Previous hospital or homecare sterile
product preparation experience preferred.
