POSITION OVERVIEW:
  • Under general direction, provides pharmaceutical expertise to staff and management within a health care account.
  • Monitors the maintenance of the drug data file to ensure accuracy and currency of files.
  • Acts as a liaison to pharmaceutical providers resolving problems.
  • Recommends and promotes beneficial changes to customer programs.
  • Assists in adjudication of complicated claims, interpreting and applying state regulations of claims processes.
  • Participates in customer policy and rate development.
  • Provides assistance in drafting provider manuals, bulletins and revisions to provider publications.
  • Assists in the development of methods and coding systems for computerized processing of claims.
  • Represents EDS in professional associations.
  • Must hold current CA Pharmacy license.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS...
  • Ability to monitor accuracy and resolve problems related to drug data files
  • Ability to analyze, review and adjudicate pharmaceutical prior authorization requests and/or insurance claims
  • Ability to develop and recommend enhancements to customer programs related to pharmaceutical processes

  • Ability to develop and recommend enhancements to customer programs related to pharmaceutical processes.
  • Ability to develop pharmacy-related policies, rates, and procedures.
  • Ability to interact with various types of clients, government agencies and healthcare providers.
